  1. This game was my first introduction to your work, and I love it. Subscribed to your rss and can’t wait to see more. Hopefully something for the iPhone since that’s my primary gaming device.

  2. This game sucks. What game has multiple cutscenes for your death depending on how you die and doesn’t let you play it ever again? Games are supposed to be enjoyed multiple times, not just once. That is why I give it a 1 star other than the fact that I can’t give a 0 out of 5.

  3. its not nice is you plzy it once and you die then you have to play it on another website this sucks

  4. Well since I’m not a member on kongregate, I’m leaving my comment here.

Lots of people on kong are complaining about how yo only live once. The people defending you are saying that the point of the game is to teach you about whats gonna happen to you. Now screw this stupid game. Do people seriously think that a giant pink lizard is going to kidnap your girlfriend. You’re game gets a -11/100. Screw this game, add, a restart option or only let people once every hour or day.

  6. ya it does

its a brilliant idea if some company pays you for every view, because of what happens after you keep refreshing………otherwise, SCREW THIS STUPID GAME

  7. this is quality!! sure i was a bit annoyed i can’t play again, but i can live with that just for experiencing the uniqueness of this… ‘experience’ ! its a work of art, more than just a game. stop hating! nice1 :)

  9. Wait, so the complaint about “You Only Live Once” is that…you only live once? What are you, idiots? It’s a joke. Deal with it.

  10. THE ENTIRE POINT OF THIS GAME IS TO SATIRE OTHER GAMES. IT IS NOT TO “TEACH A LESSON.” IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE A “FUN GAME.” WAKE UP.

  11. very funny, and very nicely followed through. thank you.

  12. This is brilliant. I’m showing everybody.

Although I wish I could play it again.

Someone mentioned resetting the game once every few hours or so. I could see that. Or hiding a reset button somewhere.

  14. The frustrated comments are almost as funny as the game. Nice one!

  15. Hahaha, that’s awesome! I thought deleting the flash local storage would circumvent the game’s premise, but nope.. guess it’s IP based? I might have to try through a proxy…

  16. If you want to play again, just delete your mochibot.com cookies.

  17. Well done. The comments complaining about the game truly shows how underage the gaming populace is. Go play your regenerating health, easy mode shooters somewhere else.

  18. It might mean to be a satire or something, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a complete flop.

It’s a good idea in theory, but terrible in practice.

  19. I tried the game, wasn’t sure what to think when i saw the monster, jumped too early, fell down the hole. :/ I’m just a little bummed I didn’t get to see any of the other things in the game. I would loved to have see more. Great game though!

    Comment by Jello — September 15, 2009 @ 5:50 pm

  20. There’s cut scenes after you die? I beat it on the first go through and now I’m stuck with his girlfriend, just talking.

    Comment by Birthmark Hal — September 17, 2009 @ 4:45 am

  21. man, if anyone says playing on a different website lets you play again, they lie… i tried on kongregate, notdoppler, and this website and it still shows the same dang grave. i would have liked a “here’s the controls” section though, kind of a shame most people had to learn by dying….

  22. really liked it. Good job

  23. How did you do the translation for all the different languages (especially Korean?!)?!?!
I am actually a Korean and I am really surprised by the quality of the Korean translation and its ability to reference to exclusive Korean internet memes!

  24. This was a fantastic game, and I loved the cutscenes, but the fact that even after you die (Living once), YOU CANNOT START AGAIN!!!!! I would have really liked to play again and seen the other cutscenes. Even though it was clear that a lot of effort was put into this game, I was very disappointed that I only saw a very small amount of it. Granted, if I was able to start again I would most likely finish it, but no. For that reason, I give this game a 2/10. Fun the first time, but watching the same death scenes over and over and not being able to start again pisses me off. If there was a ‘Restart’ button, this honestly would be one of my favourite flash games of all time. Just a little advice for a future update, maybe?

  25. I don’t see what so many people are complaining about, this game was original and funny.
If you want a platform game where you keep replaying, there are hundreds out there on the internet.

    Thanks.

  27. Also, notice that there are several little differences in the “GAME OVER” screen if you keep trying to play again after death …. and somewhere around the 30th time, your character does “rise again” … though not in exactly the best shape.

  29. i think this is a cool idea. there are a lot of things you could take away from this, but I like how this game explores the actual repercussions of death and the fact that they’re ignored in games. some games will have penalties for death (start over level, lose character), but this is the most realistic i’ve seen.

  30. “Wait, so the complaint about “You Only Live Once” is that…you only live once? What are you, idiots? It’s a joke. Deal with it.”

Ahaha, but then where will we get our laughs? I absolutely applaud this game. Fantastic translations and cutscenes prove the game’s worth. On impulse, I was wanting to suggest a warning for the slow-minded, but then I realized the game wouldn’t nearly be as fun! Thank you, sir, for making my day.

  31. hi well im not sure about this game. sure its funny but the creator of this game might want to think about adding a restart button because although ‘it explores the actual repercussions of death’ ( taken from drew’s comment )it can upset people who have lost family members ( including myself )

    Comment by Silvermoongirl64 — November 10, 2009 @ 12:04 pm

  32. You’re stupid Vaeth. The game is called, ‘You only live once’. How many people do you know can jump off a platform, fall down a canyon, break their neck, be buried and then come back to life to continue on? No one.
