The Doeo Aftermath

Things have started to calm down since Doeo hit the fan. The game has been doing reasonably to very good, getting some 2 million views so far, not including hits from Shockwave and Addicting Games, which I expect might be around another million. I still have a few licenses of the game to ship out, but that’s mostly because real life has been keeping me busy.

I wish I could show you the game I’m working on now - it’s a crazy “Typing of the Dead” kind of game which my old faculty will use to teach first-year students to conjugate verbs in Japanese. The guy who wrote the script has a very odd sense of humor, which hopefully will show in the finished product. I will probably not be able to post the game online (the faculty is aiming to sell it to other universities), but maybe a few pictures later on. I really like some of the characters I’ve come up with for the game and I’m hoping I’ll be able to use them for my own projects, but the faculty owns the copyright, so it depends.

Good news if you liked Doeo, by the way! I’ll start working on the sequel next week. Also, I’m looking for a few artists to make backgrounds, if you’re interested, shoot me an e-mail! (I’ll be posting more detailed information about this later on).

Download Doeo!

All website developers, and others who want to experience a lag-free Doeo - you can now download Doeo from Newgrounds. It comes in a neat little zip package with a few .png thumbnails. If you love me, you’ll download it. If you want to upload it to your game, blog, whatever, feel perfectly free!

Also, Doeo is up on Kongregate since yesterday, please go there and vote on it! The higher my ranking, the better my chances to win a prize in their competition. So go there and vote!

Peace out.

New site up and running!

Long overdue, the new Raitendo.com website is finally up. Until now, I’ve only been updating the site on those rare occasions that I’ve finished a new game, but from now on, that’s going to change. I’m no longer just going to showcase my own games, but all kinds of games. I’m also hoping to be able to get some exciting stuff on here that you can’t find at all the other game portals - for example, I’ve been thinking about talking to Japanese authors, and translating some of their stuff into English so more people can enjoy them.

What else will be worthwhile about this site? Well, I’m hoping to cater to flash makers like myself with in-depth interviews with flash gaming profiles and interesting articles. As an actual trained journalist (well, still in training to be perfectly honest) I’m sure you’ll find something to your taste.

I’d also like to apologize about the missing features and the in parts lackluster design, but I just had to get the damn thing online. Expect a lot of polishing and refurbishing here for the next few weeks.

And with those words, I’d like to officially declare the new Raitendo.com up and running!
